Vice President of Health Services

MaryAustin1Mary M. Austin, MSN, RN, is the Vice President of Health Services for NewCourtland. With responsibilities that include the leadership of NewCourtland’s LIFE (Living Independently for Elders) and adult day programs, Mary leverages her in-depth experience in long-term care to further develop a more comprehensive and coordinated community-centric delivery model for senior care.

Mary’s proven success with “age in place” programs and innovative programming is evident by her recent tenure as the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer for the LIFE program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

Ms. Austin previously worked at Courtland Health Care as the Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President from 1991 to 1995 and was the owner of Senior Pathways, an eldercare solutions consulting service prior to her work at Penn.

Mary also served on the Board of Directors of CARIE (Coalition of Advocates for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly), was the founding president of the Pennsylvania Culture Change Coalition and is a Fellow in the Johnson and Johnson Wharton Program for Nurse Executives.

A graduate of Neumann University and Villanova University, Mary is a strong supporter and educator for the rights of seniors to live independently, in their own homes and communities.
