• learning daily routines and automatically alerting caregivers when something occurs outside of the normal parameters
• calling for help automatically when there is no activity for a period of time
• alerting caregivers—proactively—when there are changes in daily activities such as bathroom use, kitchen/food use and sleep/bed patterns
• remotely monitoring and assessing trends in vital sign activity, including weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry and glucose levels
• reminding and dispensing scheduled medications, and alerting a caregiver if medications are not taken on schedule
• detecting early changes/declines in health and alerting providers to intervene, thus helping prevent emergency room visits and hospitalizations
• coordinating the use of the technology with the patient’s entire support network
