On November 17, 2011, NewCourtland convened a day-long summit for its board of directors, community stakeholders, executive and senior leadership to learn from people and organizations around the country that are serious about and successful in their efforts to enable seniors to age in place. Composed of national long-term care leaders from emerging, progressive organizations, the roster of speakers included Larry Minnix, President and CEO, LeadingAge; Beverley Dahan, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Total Long Term Care, Colorado; and Nancy Eldridge, Executive Director of Cathedral Square Corporation.
Larry Minnix, who served as the keynote speaker, outlined six key objectives for non-profit organizations billed as the “Six Leadership Imperatives:”

“We are now in an era where all we do will be accountable and transparent,” stated Minnix. “We must respond faster to the needs of consumers committing to be clear about our promise and deliver it.” The presentations and robust conversations that followed serve as the foundation for a strategic planning process underway as part of our ongoing commitment to anticipate and meet the needs of a growing senior population.
