Education
NewCourtland stands for excellence through education, and further believes that a well-educated staff leads to better resident care. Based on these two principles and its commitment to its residents and staff, NewCourtland built a state-of-the-art Education Center, geared toward staff training and development.
Education Center
Conveniently located in Germantown, the NewCourtland Education Center features more than 41,000 square feet of state-of-the-art class-rooms and seminar spaces, high-tech nursing labs and Auten Hall — a 200-seat multipurpose auditorium. It represents an innovative and significant link in the partnership with nursing home staff, built on the belief that education leads to improved resident care.
The Education Center encourages the pursuit of lifelong learning — for staff and residents. And it provides an environment for expanded study of issues related to aging and long term care.
Extending the Ladder of Opportunity
The Education Center provides space and learning resources so that NewCourtland Network staff can grow professionally, increase their job knowledge, and advance their careers in long term care. Classes include:
- Geriatric Assessment
- Medication Management
- CEUs for Nurses and Nursing Home Administrators
- Workshops on Dementia Management
- Leadership Training
NewCourtland’s Ladder of Opportunity program for clinical staff offers classes for Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses in their pursuit of an advanced education.
