NewCourtland Celebrates Grand Opening of The Apartments at Cliveden
NewCourtland marked its grand opening of The Apartments at Cliveden on October 31, 2011 with a standing-room-only event that attracted Congressman Chaka Fattah, Mayor Michael Nutter and Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Executive Director Brian Hudson, among other esteemed guests. The $14.6M project represents significant development in Philadelphia which NewCourtland achieved with the support of a variety of public and private funding sources including PNC Bank, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) and Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Pittsburgh.

“NewCourtland's leadership in developing affordable housing for seniors with built-in, community-based support serves as a national model for meeting the demands of a growing senior population,” said U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-2).
“It is private-public partnerships such as this that not only bring much-needed senior housing to Philadelphia, but create jobs for all Philadelphians furthering our community revitalization efforts and strengthening entire neighborhoods,” added Mayor Michael Nutter.
In a testimony before Congress on December 13, 2011, Fattah referenced The Apartments at Cliveden as an example of the exemplary development underway in Philadelphia. To read his remarks visit http://ow.ly/8svrX.
