Pam Mammarella, NewCourtland Senior Services’ Vice President of Marketing and Government Affairs, was recently appointed chair of the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports Delivery System Subcommittee (MLTSS Subcommittee) of the Medical Assistance Advisory Committee (MAAC).

The group will inform the Department of Human Services (DHS) as it implements Community HealthChoices (CHC), a new initiative that will use managed care organizations alongside LIFE Programs to coordinate physical health care and long-term services and supports.

“The MLTSS subcommittee plays a crucial role for the state as it brings CHC online,” says Mammarella. “It provides a forum for consumers and organizations across the Commonwealth, ensuring that their concerns related to long-term services and supports are addressed. I’m honored to lead this group as important, fundamental changes are made to this delivery system.”

A sought-after thought leader, Ms. Mammarella is the immediate past Board Chair of the Pennsylvania LIFE Providers Alliance (PALPA), is a member of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Health Empowerment Zone Health Committee, and an appointee of the Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee on Long-Term Care Services and Supports, as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Intra-Governmental Council on Long-Term Care Emerging Issues Work Group.  She was invited in 2005 to sit on the International Longevity Center’s Panel of Experts to make recommendations for the White House Conference on Aging and served as an advisory committee member to the Department of Public Welfare’s Office of Long Term Living on behalf of the PALPA workgroup.
