Employee PRIDE
The NewCourtland Network has become known for its commitment to improving the quality of life for the residents living in the NewCourtland nursing homes through a partnership of caring with the staff. This partnership centers greatly on a shared vision of excellence for the residents, reinforced by NewCourtland’s commitment to improving the lives of the nursing home staff through employee-centered programs, including the Employee PRIDE Program.
In 1999 NewCourtland created the Employee PRIDE program − Provide Respect, Incentives, career Development, and Education. Out of the Employee PRIDE Program grew:
- the Ladder of Opportunity career and advancement program
- the YOUrHOME employer assisted homeownership program
- the Neighbor to Neighbor employee referral bonus program
- the Employee Assistance Program
- the 10K Club
Ladder of Opportunity
For more information on this innovative employee education program, see the Ladder of Opportunity page.
YOUrHOME
YOUrHOME is an employer-assisted homeownership program that makes owning a home easier for Network employees. NewCourtland Elder Services Network employees can now receive $6,000 towards closing costs when purchasing a home in the Network community
Neighbor to Neighbor
Neighbor to Neighbor is a referral program which encourages staff members to spread the word about career opportunities by rewarding them with cash bonuses.
NewCourtland Network employees can earn $1,000 for referring an RN or LPN and $300 for referring any non-nursing position to the NewCourtland Network..
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential help for employees in the NewCourtland Network.
Everyone faces problems. NewCourtland Network employees don’t have to face theirs alone.
EAP helps employees find solutions for when life’s challenges get to be too much to handle on their own by addressing:
- Marital or family issues
- Emotional problems
- Stress and depression
- Domestic violence
- Financial or legal concerns
- Sexual issues
- Alcohol or drug abuse problems
- Work-related concerns
- Grief and loss
- Relationship issues
10K Club
The NewCourtland nursing home network recognizes that the Nursing Leadership group needs to feel a strong sense of affiliation with their individual nursing home and with the network as a whole. Each Nursing Leader is recognized as a professional and encouraged to participate in activities which educate and enlighten them. Nursing Leaders are:
- Directors of Nursing
- Assistant Directors of Nursing
- Unit Managers
- Shift Supervisors
- Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinators
- Staff Development
The benefits of the 10K Club for Nursing Leadership include:
- Nursing Leadership bonus up to $10,000
- A paid membership to a nursing association
- A paid subscription to a nursing journal mailed to their home
- Paid attendance at a local or national nursing conference once every three years
