Comfort & Joy™, NewCourtland’s interactive arts and cultural program, has garnered numerous international, national and regional awards for its work in giving a voice to seniors while encouraging them to remain involved and active in their communities. Listed below are the awards given to this innovative program:

International
  • Generations United Leadership Award for Outstanding Support of Intergenerational Programs (2003), Comfort & Joy™
National
  • The Communicator Award of Distinction for Comfort & Joy™ Exhibit Media Kit (2004);
  • The National Mature Media Awards Merit Award in the Brochure/Booklet category for the Comfort & Joy™ Celebrating Intergenerational Artistic Achievement book (2004);

  • The Art-Reach Commitment to Cultural Access Award was given to the Comfort & Joy™ program for its “use of the arts as a tool to improve the lives of its elders” (2007);
  • The Public Relations Society of America, Philadelphia Chapter, Second Place Pepperpot Award for Single Piece Communications for the Comfort & Joy™ Celebrating Intergenerational Artistic Achievement Exhibit, Media/Press Kit (2003), the Golden Eagle Scout program;
