NewCourtland’s Tower at Henry Avenue Wins First Place

NewCourtland’s Tower at Henry is honored to receive the first-place award for Environmental, Social, and Governance Development for 2025 from the Philadelphia Business Journal. Our work is about creating communities that provide housing, health options, and connections to support older adults.
The Tower was described as both inclusive and innovative in its design and purpose. The Tower is inclusive because it reflects the diversity of the surrounding community—welcoming college students, families, and seniors—without separating tenants by age, ability, or income. Affordability is a key feature, ensuring accessibility for all who want to live in this community. The design process, including a partnership with Inglis House, ensures ADA-compliant features and responsiveness to individual’s and group’s needs. Technology plays a central role in fostering connection and bridging social divides. The property is also innovative, improving on past housing models by avoiding gentrification and supporting a sustainable community ecosystem. Freed from the constraints of tax credit funding, the development embraces high-end technology and creative design solutions. It integrates access to public transportation and prioritizes community collaboration, making it a forward-thinking model for affordable, market-rate housing.
