NewCourtland is developing two new murals!

Murals at our Henry Avenue and Allegheny Avenue campuses starting taking shape last week.

Over at 1901 West Allegheny, the installation of a mural commissioned by NewCourtland and Compass Storage started last week on September 21, 2020. The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is our partner in this endeavor and is handling the installation. MAP arranged for parts of the mural to be painted by PSC Allegheny and residents of the Apartments at Allegheny. The mural was designed and will be installed by noted Muralist Miriam Singer.  While the installation is expected to be completed by the middle of October, an official dedication will take place in the spring of 2020. The Henry Avenue campus will feature an indoor mural in the lobby which leads to the Terrace apartments, located at 3232 Henry Avenue. Work started on September 27th, 2020. This mural was designed by one our longtime partners, Elisabeth Nickels. Elisabeth has previously worked on several art projects for NewCourtland and she is handling the installation with her team. This mural is going on a wall this is 32 foot high, 50 feet across and was screaming for attention. It will be three dimensional and will be visible from Henry Avenue. Work should be complete by October 9, 2020. Progress photos are posted below.
